Pandit Rajendra Gangani is among the foremost Kathak dancers in India and the leading torch-bearer of the Jaipur gharana. A Sangeet Natak Akademi awardee and guru at the Kathak Kendra in Delhi, he is renowned for his dazzling footwork, powerful layakari and pure classical technique.
Son and disciple of the noted guru Kundanlal Gangani, Pandit Rajendra Gangani was trained in the family Jaipur gharana tradition and rose to become its leading contemporary exponent. A long-serving guru at the Kathak Kendra, Delhi, he has performed and taught across India and internationally, received the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 2002, and choreographed numerous acclaimed works.
