When you submit an enquiry, suggest an update, request a profile, or use any contact form on the platform, we collect:

If you claim or verify a profile as the representative of a festival, institution or artist, we collect the above contact information along with any supporting documentation you provide to verify your identity and role. This information is used solely to process and maintain the claim.
When you visit Culture Atlas, standard server logs and analytics tools record:
This information is used to understand how the platform is used and to improve it. It is not linked to your identity unless you have submitted a form.
Culture Atlas uses Google Analytics (via Google Tag Manager) to measure traffic and understand how people use the platform. Google Analytics sets cookies on your device to track sessions and page views. This data is aggregated and does not identify you individually. You can opt out using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by adjusting your browser's cookie settings.
Some pages load typefaces from Google Fonts. When a typeface is requested, your browser sends a request to Google's servers, which may log your IP address. Google's privacy policy governs this data.
The map features on Culture Atlas use CARTO map tiles and OpenStreetMap data, served via the Leaflet library. When the map loads, your browser sends a request to CARTO's servers. CARTO's privacy policy governs that data.
User accounts are not currently active on Culture Atlas. When account sign-up is enabled in the future, the platform will offer Google Sign-in as an option. If you use Google Sign-in, Google's authentication servers will process your Google account information. This policy will be updated before accounts are activated. No Google Sign-in data is collected while accounts are switched off.
Culture Atlas does not carry advertising. No advertising networks, retargeting pixels or social media tracking cookies are used on the platform.

Where an editorial submission relates to a specific profile, relevant details may be shared internally with the research team reviewing that profile. Contact details are not published without explicit consent.
Form submissions and editorial contributions are retained for as long as they are relevant to the accuracy of the platform, or for three years from receipt, whichever is longer. Server log data is retained for up to 12 months. You may request deletion of personal information you submitted by contacting us at contact@cultureatlas.in.

Culture Atlas uses standard web security practices to protect information submitted through the platform. Form submissions are transmitted over HTTPS. We do not store payment card information. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted to the platform.
Culture Atlas is a general-audience editorial platform. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If we become aware that such information has been submitted, we will delete it promptly.
We may update this policy as the platform develops, particularly when new features such as user accounts or email newsletters are activated. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect any update. Significant changes will be noted on this page.
