Malabika Mitra is a distinguished Kathak dancer and guru based in Kolkata, trained in the Banaras gharana and by the legendary Pandit Birju Maharaj. She has sustained and promoted Kathak in eastern India through performance and dedicated teaching.
Trained under Bandana Sen in the Banaras gharana and later under Pandit Birju Maharaj, Malabika Mitra built a career as a performer and teacher in Kolkata, performing at dance festivals in India and abroad and mentoring a generation of Kathak dancers in eastern India.
