Prerana Shrimali is a senior dancer of the Jaipur gharana of Kathak and a Sangeet Natak Akademi awardee. Born in Rajasthan and trained by the celebrated Guru Kundan Lal Gangani, she is a distinguished performer, choreographer and guru who has shaped Kathak teaching at leading institutions.
Born in Banswara, Rajasthan, Prerana Shrimali was initiated into Kathak by Guru Kundan Lal Gangani in Jaipur and groomed further under him at the Kathak Kendra, New Delhi. She has taught at the Gandharva Mahavidyalaya and Shriram Bharatiya Kala Kendra and served as Repertory Chief and senior guru at the Kathak Kendra, received the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 2009, and founded her own institute, Kalaavart, in Jaipur in 2021.
