About
Aleena Itrat was born 6 June in Nagina, Bijnor District, Uttar Pradesh. She holds a B.Ed alongside an MA in English Literature and History, and currently works in teaching. Her poetry collection "Suraj Tum Jao" was well received and won awards from both the Delhi Urdu Academy and the Bihar Urdu Academy in 2015 and 2016 respectively, alongside several other national and international honours. Her ghazals, nazms and short stories have been published in choice literary journals in India and abroad.
[Atlas Assessment] A genuinely awarded figure - two separate state Urdu academy honours for a single named collection is a real, specific credential, not a vague claim. Her profession in teaching alongside her writing practice is a common but rarely documented pattern worth noting when comparing artists in this cohort.
Aleena Itrat's poetry is specifically noted for centering feminine emotional experience with earnestness rather than performance-oriented mushaira flourish - a documented critical distinction from poets whose work is primarily judged on stage delivery.
