Manzar Bhopali, the pen name of Syed Ali Raza, is an Indian Urdu poet from Bhopal, celebrated for a prolific body of ghazal, nazm and geet and for reciting at thousands of mushairas across five continents. Over more than three decades he has penned over a dozen books in Urdu and Hindi.
Born in 1959 in Amravati into a family steeped in Urdu literature and raised in Bhopal, Manzar Bhopali said his first ghazal at seventeen and attended his first international mushaira in Karachi in 1987. Since then he has toured the USA, Canada, Australia and many other countries dozens of times, reciting across two dozen nations and publishing more than a dozen collections.
