Salim Saleem (born 1985 in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh) is a contemporary Urdu poet regarded among the strongest of the new generation, known for verse that blends reason with emotion. Educated at Jamiat-ul-Falaah (Bilariyaganj), he holds a BA from Aligarh Muslim University, an MA in Urdu from Jawaharlal Nehru University, an MPhil from Jamia Millia Islamia, and a PhD from the University of Delhi (on the poet-critic Saleem Ahmed). He has been associated with the Rekhta Foundation for over a decade.
