Liaqat Jafri (born 18 February 1971 in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir) is an Indian Urdu poet, scholar and lyricist. He holds a PhD from the University of Jammu (2003), edits the "Alla Taleem" magazine published by the J&K Department of Higher Education, and has represented Jammu and Kashmir at international festivals and mushairas in the UAE, South Asia and beyond. He also writes songs for Hindi cinema, and several of his poems have circulated widely online.
