The Story
OrganizerThanjavur, the former Chola capital and a cradle of Carnatic music, is home to the Tyagaraja tradition centred on the composer's samadhi at nearby Tiruvaiyaru. Institutions there preserve the instruments, manuscripts and memory of the tradition, sustaining the town's status as a spiritual home of South Indian classical music.
