◆  Atlas Commentary

India Design ID sits at the boundary of the Atlas's mandate: it is primarily a trade fair rather than a cultural festival. It is included because the ID Symposium and ID Special Projects give it genuine cultural content, and because India's design industry is an important part of the broader creative economy the Atlas maps. The 2026 Delhi edition dates are confirmed (19-22 February). A Mumbai edition also runs.

The Story

Organizer

India Design ID was founded by Ogaan Publications, the Delhi-based fashion and lifestyle media house behind Ogaan stores, with the recognition that India's rapidly growing interior design and luxury home market lacked a credible annual platform equivalent to Salone del Mobile in Milan or Maison et Objet in Paris. Over 14 editions it has become the primary annual gathering of India's architecture, interior design, and home decor industry, attracting 250,000+ visitors and exhibitors ranging from internationally recognised luxury brands to emerging Indian designers and craftspeople. The ID Collectible section, which presents limited-edition and artisanal design objects, gives the fair a cultural dimension beyond pure commercial exhibition. The ID Symposium's expert talks connect the fair to global design discourse.

Cultural Significance

India Design ID is significant as the primary institutional platform for India's design industry, which has grown dramatically in the past two decades alongside the luxury home market, the hospitality sector, and the rise of a design-conscious urban middle class. It also functions as one of the few platforms where Indian craft traditions, presented through the collectible design lens, encounter international design culture on equal terms.

Why It Matters Today

India's primary annual platform for the architecture, interior design, and home decor industry, connecting global luxury brands with Indian design professionals and collectors in an increasingly significant creative economy sector.
