The Story
OrganizerIndia Habitat Centre has been one of New Delhi's most significant cultural institutions since 1993, hosting theatre, music, literature, visual arts, and film across its multi-venue complex. HIFF grew out of IHC's commitment to providing Delhi's film-literate community with access to international cinema beyond commercial multiplex releases. Its programming has consistently favoured serious world cinema, arthouse features, and documentaries over mainstream fare, making it one of Delhi's most important platforms for independent international film.
Delhi's film festival landscape is smaller than Mumbai's or Kolkata's, and HIFF is one of the oldest independent curatorial interventions within it. IHC's venue brings together Delhi's diplomatic, academic, and arts communities in a single space, giving HIFF an unusually cosmopolitan audience for a non-commercial film event.
One of Delhi's oldest independent film curation platforms, presenting serious world cinema at India's most cosmopolitan cultural venue.
