Pandit Shounak Abhisheki is a Hindustani classical vocalist and composer of classical, semi-classical, devotional and natya sangeet music. The son and disciple of the maestro Pandit Jitendra Abhisheki, he combines the Agra and Jaipur styles into a distinctive, flexible musical voice.
Born into the Abhisheki musical family of Goa and Maharashtra, Shounak Abhisheki trained under his illustrious father Pandit Jitendra Abhisheki, absorbing his classical and stage-music legacy, and under Kamaltai Tambe of the Jaipur gharana. He has presented special programmes such as Swarabhishek, performed and composed widely, and carried forward the Abhisheki tradition across classical and natya sangeet stages.
