Raza Ali Khan is an Indian Hindustani classical vocalist of the Patiala Gharana, grandson of the legendary Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan and son of Ustad Munawar Ali Khan. He performs khayal, thumri, dadra and ghazal, alongside geet and devotional forms such as sozkhani and manqabat, and has also worked as a composer.
Born in Bombay in 1962 into one of Hindustani music's most illustrious families, Raza Ali Khan received early training from his grandfather Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan and his father Ustad Munawar Ali Khan, whom he accompanied in concert. He gave his first solo performance in 1977 in Calcutta, went on to record albums including Gharana Lineage and tributes to Bade Ghulam Ali Khan, composed ghazals for singers such as Ghulam Ali and Penaz Masani, and served for years as chief music director of Venus.
