Ranjeet Rajwada is one of India's most popular young ghazal singers, often called the Prince of Ghazal. Jaipur-born and Mumbai-based, he rose to national prominence in his teens and has built a devoted, largely young following for the classic Urdu ghazal, singing mostly in chaste Urdu and Hindi.
Born in Jaipur to ghazal singer Mahesh Rajwada, under whom he first trained, Ranjeet Rajwada moved to Mumbai in 2005 on the advice of Kishori Amonkar, training under her between 2005 and 2008. He came to national attention as the only ghazal-singing participant on television shows including SaReGaMaPa Superstars in 2010, and went on to solo tours of the US and world tours, a President's award and recognition on Forbes India's 30 Under 30, becoming one of the most successful young ghazal artists in the country.
