Project Mishram is a seven-piece progressive Carnatic-fusion band from Bengaluru whose name means both mix and the number seven in Sanskrit. Their sound blends modern progressive metal, djent, funk, jazz and electronica, all centred on the intricacies of Carnatic ragas, syncopation and mathematically driven grooves.
Formed in the late 2010s, Project Mishram won the Maruti Suzuki Colors of Youth (2018) and appeared on Music Mojo, before touring the UK in 2019, playing UK Tech Fest and sharing stages with progressive-metal names like Leprous and Monuments. Their debut album Meso (2021) drew critical acclaim, and the band's catalogue has since crossed hundreds of thousands of streams. In 2024 they performed at the Louder Than Life festival in the United States before a crowd of over 200,000, cementing their standing as one of the most exciting acts in modern progressive fusion.
