Avial is an Indian alternative-rock band from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, formed in 2003 and known for its Malayalam lyrics. Pioneers of what they call Alternative Malayali rock, they combined Kerala's folk songs and poems with a moody, genre-bending rock sound, achieving rare mainstream success singing entirely in their native tongue.
