Anand Bhate is a Hindustani classical vocalist of the Kirana gharana and a longtime disciple of Bharat Ratna Pandit Bhimsen Joshi. A National Award winner, he is celebrated both for his classical khayal and for his acclaimed recreation of the music of the legendary Marathi stage singer Balgandharva.
Anand Bhate trained for many years under Pandit Bhimsen Joshi in the Kirana gharana. He won a National Film Award for his singing recreating Balgandharva's music in the acclaimed Marathi film Balgandharva, and has built a distinguished career across classical khayal, natya sangeet and devotional music, performing at leading festivals across India.
