The Story
OrganizerDr. Kelkar spent much of the twentieth century collecting the everyday and decorative objects of Indian life, assembling tens of thousands of items that he donated to the state to form a public museum, opened in 1962. Devoted to the beauty of ordinary things, the collection became one of the most distinctive in India and a beloved cultural landmark of Pune.
