The Story
OrganizerMAP grew from decades of collecting by Abhishek Poddar and was developed through the 2010s as one of India's first major privately funded art museums outside Delhi and Mumbai, opening its purpose-built building in Bengaluru in 2023. It set out to broaden the idea of the museum in India, giving equal weight to photography, craft and popular visual culture alongside fine art, and investing heavily in digital access and inclusive programming.
