The Story

Organizer

Opened in 2010, the museum was developed by the Salesian order, long active in education across Northeast India, to document and celebrate the region's indigenous heritage. Its purpose-built multi-storey building and extensive galleries made it a leading centre for the presentation of the cultures of the seven states of the Northeast.

Cultural Significance

The Don Bosco Museum is a major centre for the documentation and celebration of the indigenous cultures of Northeast India, giving a diverse and often under-represented region a comprehensive cultural showcase.
