RED FM's Pune expansion reflects both audience demand and the festival's commercial maturity after eight Delhi editions. The venue, Messe Global at Laxmi Lawns, is a convention and events space in Pune's urban fabric. The artist line-up of Shobana (classical dancer and film icon), Karthik (playback singer), The Raghu Dixit Project (Bengaluru indie-folk), and Avial (alternative Malayalam rock) is a compact but well-chosen set that spans the full range of South Indian contemporary performance idioms. Avial in particular, whose name references Kerala's signature mixed-vegetable dish, is a band with a strong following in South Indian and diaspora communities and whose presence at a Pune venue connects to a different demographic from the Shobana or Karthik audiences.
The Pune debut of South Side Story is modest in scale but culturally legible: it represents a media company testing whether the cross-regional cultural exchange model it has developed in Delhi can be replicated in a city with a different demographic profile.
