Gnaana Paattu, literally "songs of knowledge" or "wisdom songs," are Tamil devotional hymns whose central theme is gnaana, spiritual knowledge and divine truth. The term is used across Tamil devotional traditions and is especially associated with the Ayyavazhi tradition of the far south (the Kanyakumari region), which arose in the 19th century around the teachings of Ayya Vaikundar, where sacred songs of knowledge form part of the devotional repertoire alongside other hymn traditions.
