About
To work in the areas of education, healthcare, rural development, arts and culture, and destitute care, and to support the preservation of India's art, culture and heritage.
The Infosys Foundation is the philanthropic and social-responsibility arm of the technology company Infosys, established in 1996 and long led by its founder-chairperson Sudha Murty, the educator, author and Padma Bhushan awardee. Working across education, healthcare, rural development and destitute care, the Foundation has also been a notable supporter of the arts, culture and heritage, funding the preservation of traditional and dying art forms, the restoration of temples and heritage, and cultural and literary initiatives, and supporting artists and craftspeople across India.
Founded in 1996 under Sudha Murty, the Infosys Foundation grew into one of India's most respected corporate philanthropies. Within its wide social mission, it developed a distinctive commitment to Indian art, culture and heritage, supporting classical and folk artists, funding the documentation and revival of endangered art forms and crafts, contributing to the conservation of temples and heritage structures, and backing cultural and literary programmes, reflecting Sudha Murty's own deep engagement with Indian literature and tradition.
