The Bharatiya Natya Sangh is a national theatre and performing-arts organisation founded in 1949, long associated with the promotion of drama, dance and puppetry in India and with the country's links to the international theatre movement. Through its programmes, festivals and publications it has worked to encourage the performing arts and to connect Indian theatre with global networks.
Founded in 1949 in the early years of independence, the Bharatiya Natya Sangh became one of India's national bodies for theatre and the performing arts, associated with international theatre organisations and with the promotion of drama, dance and puppetry.
